Join me on a bush walk

Our bush walks this week have been wonderful. Too good to not share.

So, come with me….

Boardwalks through the buttongrass

Heading to the hills

Getting higher, a few little waterfalls

The fagus is beginning to turn

Elevated view looking back to where we started

Heading to the Crater Lake

Crater Lake

Path onwards

A bit straggly here

Higher it looks darker

Over the crest and looking down to Lake Lilla and Dove Lake

Most of us just lunching here, but others heading on a 7 day trek…

Passing Wombat Pool

Dove Lake

The lake

Then around this lake

Glacier Rock on the left, people on it

Walkers on the rock, nice viewpoint

The view from the rock

Boardwalk

Boardwalk

On other side of lake now

Forest part

More forest

Cool and shady

The boat shed

The boat shed

Echidna busy searching for ants

Wombats

Little falls

More walks

More walks

hope you enjoyed it…

Those lakes have me wishing I could jump in.

That looks like a lot of elevation.

Thank you Adie.

Fabulous photos Ade, thanks for posting! I recognize the location and lucky you to have Cradle Mountain with wombats nearby.

(zebec, I don't mind admitting I had to look up Solvitur Ambulande. Well said.)

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing, Adelaidean. Sometimes it's easy to forget what's here in our rush to get overseas. A friend and I had a wonderful long weekend at Phillip Island with brilliant coastal hiking, a mere two hours from home.

Thank you for sharing. Brings back great memories of our own time at Cradle Mountain a few years ago. The wombats are adorable. Hoping to return to Australia soon.

This was lovely -- thank you!

In about a month we'll be flying to Australia, and your photos help feed our excitement!

Cheers,
