Is Waitomo Cave worth the visit?
We are thinking about driving to Waitomo Caves from Auckland and try a Black Water Rafting there (3hrs). Then continue driving to Rotorua after the rafting trip. We have all day next day to dedicate to Rotorua and around Rotorua. Do you think one day is enough time for Rotorua area? or Should we skip the Waitomo Caves and drive straight to Rotorua for 2 days? Please advise! Thanks.

We did exactly what you did and had plenty of time in Rotorua.
We drove from Auckland to Waitomo and did the Lost World Adventure. From there drove to Rotorua and crashed. Spent the next day at Rainbow Springs and the Thermal Reserve close by the center of town. Then we flew to Queenstown the next day. Unless you want to spend a ton of time at the reserves, 1 day is enough.

Neko,
I've sent several clients on the Black Water Rafting adventure, and all have loved it.
Personally, I think one day for Rotorua is enough; you could visit the Maori Craft Center, the Thermal reserve, and then hit the Polynesian spa for a soak and massage in case you have any kinks to work out after your Cave adventure!
