As a matter of fact, previous reporter, Invercargill is enjoying great prosperity as the farming industry has had so many bouyant years here. If in Invercargill a trip to Bluff to the marine museum and to Stewart Island are a must. I stayed at a hotel directly opposite the railway station and it had been remodelled in it's original grandeur and it was lovely, a unique experience as the olde worlde thing dies out everywhere too quickly these days. Anyway, what would Mick Jagger know about anything - yuk!!! And who cares what he thinks.

Invercargill: In March, 2002 , my friend and I were in Invercargill. It happened to be St. Patrick's day...but, having been traveling, we didn't notice the day. Left our hostel (one of the nicer ones in new Zealand and located in the middle of town) to find a quiet place for some of that good N.Z. beer. The only place open was an Irish pub....so much for the quiet beer on St. Patrick's Day! The party there even made the front page the next day. And, I rather liked Invercargill. There is a good nature garden within walking distance of downtown.
