Hotel near Sydney Airport?

We will be flying into Sydney from Christchurch in the late afternoon and flying out of Sydney in the early AM. ANy suggestions for places to stay? We will already have spent 2 weeks in Sydney so we won't need to go into town. Thanks!

Betsy

If you want lux then Stamford, also the International Inn, Mercure, H/Inn or if on a tigher budget or just need a clean reasonable room for the night the Ibis. Depends really how much you want to spend.

The Airport Holiday Inn (in Mascot) is generally considered the best bang for the buck. Type "sydney airport hotel" into the search box to get lots of prior threads on this topic.

We also stayed at the Holiday Inn near the airport on one of our trips to Australia. It was a good deal for our family of four (and much nicer than I expected it to be!)

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in September and found it fine. It was clean, quiet and not expensive. It was about $108AU. They provide a shuttle and it is free to the hotel and I think it was $4 back to the airport.

I would pass on the breakfast buffet. It was $25AU. I would wait and grab something to eat at the airport.

Thank you so much for you suggestions. We are going to stay at the Holiday Inn. We have loosely been dealing with a travel agent for this trip who told us there weren't any hotels by the airport! Then she booked us in a Holiday Inn somewhere else in Sydney.

Thanks again!
