I'm hoping someone can help with a hotel recommendations for Cairns. We have a VERY early flight out of Cairns and therefore, want to stay in the Cairns area the night before our flight. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Cairns or within a 15 minute drive to the airport? Thanks!!

We stayed at the 'Oasis Resort'.<BR>Occur owns this hotel and a number of others. I've been very pleased with there accomadations.(check spelling on Occur) 'The Oasis Resort' is close to everything and is some what new.<BR>Highly recommended.

Thanks Arthur. We found a couple of places that looked interesting. One was called "The Lakes" and one called "Royal Plam Villas". Did you happen to go by either of those? They seem nice, convenient and relatively inexpensive. I'm going to go look up the Oasis Resort now. Thanks again.

I was in Cairns last Nov. Our coach passed by Royal Palm Villas a couple of times and it seemed to be quite a nice place. It's extremely near to the airport as well. However, you may find it a bit out of the city centre (restaurants, shops and pier). <BR><BR>I stayed at City Terrace Cairns that time. The hostess was extremely helpful and friendly. She recommended tours and booked all transportation for us. It's only 10 min to the airport by taxi and 10 min to the city centre on foot. There is a big shopping mall 2 min away too.<BR><BR>Hope you'll have a good time in Cairns. <BR><BR>

Cairns is only about 10 minutes from the airport so it doesn't really matter where you stay.

The airport is only 6km away from the city centre. All places will be within 15 minutes. Especially early morning. For a last night in Queensland, you might want to do some shopping, have a nice dinner, so find a central hotel (on or near the Esplanade) I can't remember the name the hotel we stayed at but there are quite a few nice properties in that area.

Stayed at the Hilton in Cairns and really enjoyed it. Great pool!
