The US Customs arrival hall at SFO is definitely designed to speed up processing, reducing the worries and fears of missing your connecting flight. All the terminals are close by with easy access. When the international terminal was planned, it was built with the traveler in mind with better conveniences like a free flowing river.

Arrivals at the TBIT at LAX? Designed as if it were Hoover Dam causing a backup.
