Few tweaks for a northern South Island trip, please!

Many thanks to Melnq8 and Nelsonian for your previous assistance. I scoured the trip reports in hopes of avoiding repeating questions that have been explored before. Our itinerary is more or less mapped out but would like experienced eyes to take a look and offer suggestions. Husband and I are taking our 2nd trip to New Zealand and want to hike, enjoy scenery and drink wine. Airline tickets are already purchased with flights committed; now, Im looking how to best fill in the gaps between locations. We fly into Auckland, are renting a car and have 3 days/nights open in the North Island. The 3 days do not include our recovery day/night so well be starting fresh. Im thinking of spending our time around Coromandel and/or Bay of Plenty, but would love thoughts. We return the rental car and fly from Auckland to Christchurch.

Christchurch Botanical Gardens & Quake City 1 night

Drive to Murchison for 2 days fishing - 3 nights

Next head to Motueka/Tasman/Ruby Bay area but via Pancake Rocks (hike Pororan River Trace); Cape Foulwind; Buller Swing Bridge to eventual accommodation around Motueka/Tasman/Ruby Bay. Next day hike Abel Tasman. Would love advice on best hiking for just one day in AT was thinking of taking the boat from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui and hike to Wharawharnagi and return by boat, but again would love additional thoughts especially on the best location to stay for 2 nights.

Drive to Nelson via Mapua with winery stops along the way. Would love advice on which wineries would provide the best experience. We like Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc (among others&#128522. Another day in Nelson museums and more wineries 2 nights @ Nelson.

Drive in the direction of Picton via Queen Charlotte Drive; stop in Havelock; hike Cullen Point. Plan on 4 nights in Picton with 1 day to get there; 1 day to hike Queen Charlotte Track (probably taking the boat to Ships Cove and hike to Furneau Lodge); 1 day in Blenheim & more wineries. 4 nights @ Picton.

Drive toward Kaikoura; find where the seals have moved; hike the Peninsula Walkway; drive on to Waipura/Amberly and stay 1 night.

Fly home beginning with a 1 pm flight from Christchurch.Does this seem like a reason plan? Would love suggestions for points of interest I may not be aware of; hikes that are not to be missed and wineries that must be sampled.

Appreciate you all!
