Easy to get digital photos downloaded while travelling in Oz?

Our three week trip to Australia is coming up! We're bringing a digital camera but will not be lugging along our laptop. Usually we offload pictures onto the laptop as we travel, but not this trip. I know some shops are beginning to offer a service of downloading digital pictures onto a CD, which would free up space for us to take more photos. Anyone know if this type of thing is available in Australia for a reasonable price? We'll be in Sydney, Port Douglas, Alice Springs, and other spots.

Miranda,

I can't speak for Port Douglas and Alice Springs but you'll certainly find plenty of places in Sydney and oother big cities that offer this service at very low rates. Just about every camera and film processing store does it now.

It might actually be cheaper to buy a larger (or additional) memory card. I think 128MB memory cards can be had for as little as $30US or less.

G'day Miranda.
Australia is a Backpackers paradise anf you'll find internet cafe's all over the place.
When In Alice Springs go to "The Todd Internet Cafe" in Todd Street (CBD).
CD Burning, including Disk, AU$ 5.00.
There are other places in Alice and 100's of Internet Cafe's all over the country offer the same service, although not all quite that cheap.

Have a great time in OZ,
Mike

We were there for 3 weeks and we just brought a 32MB, 128MB and 256MB and we weren't even close to using it all. But we did see places in Sydney, Kuranda and Darwin where they will download them to a CD.
