daintree air services

Has anyone done the Lizard island day trip by Daintree Air service. Im thinking of booking it to celebrate my bday in August and it costs about $450usd so just wanted some opinions if its worth it, plus I though it might be a great way to see this beautifull island that I keep hearing about. Please help

One thing is for sure:you'll never regret the money you spend because the memoty of swimming a foot above the giant clams will last for ever. Plus Greg's commentary is worth half the money! Do a search on the forum- or just do it.

Yes, we went with Greg in July 2004 and it was the best snorkeling we have ever had. That said, I would recommend you look at tide tables for the time you are going to be there and try to go when the tide is not full out or you'll have to wait a bit and then swim very very carefully over the Clam Garden to avoid damaging it. We loved it but wished we could have had more snorkel time and less hike and look at the island time. Still worth it in my opinion. Happy Birthday!

We went in June and thought it was well worth the money--even though the weather turned bad and we couldn't see the reef from the air on the way back. The views of the coast on the way up were fantastic, and the snorkeling was superlative. We had good snorkeling on a boat trip with Calypso, but it couldn't begin to compare with this. Very few people and amazing close ups of the clam garden.
