caloundra area?
We are trying decide which beach to stay near in Caloundra area.We are looking for a calm swimming area that is still in walking distance to town.
Can anyone recommend any apartments? We will be in the area for 1 month.
I know most of you prefer gold coast but we are not looking for nightlife and noise.
Any other Sunshine coast area recommendations with calm areas for swimming?

There is a nice calm water swimming area in Caloundra itself at low tide - however be aware that it is not patrolled and you still have to keep a watchful eye out.
There used to be a good complex called Gemini Towers which would be lovely but a/ I don't know if it is still called that and b/ if it takes holiday makers.
For travel information in/around Caloundra get either onto the local Sunshine Coast site or write to [email protected] and ask her for the email address of the girls that do domestic bookings in her office. They are in the main street of Caloundra and are very knowledgeable.

I really like the apartments called Argyle on the Park. They are in Cotton Tree, on the local bus route, with in easy walk of Sunshine Plaza. You could go to quite a few beaches to swim within a few minutes by bus or car. It's a quiet area and good shopping a few metres away and two cafes at the front door.
I prefer this area or Mooloolooba to stay in as they are so central.

I know the Sunshine Coast and Caloundra very well. The calm swimming beach you are thinking about is Bulcock Beach right in the middle of Caloundra. There is a new resort development overlooking this beach called Grand Pacific. The rugby league legend Alfie Langer is a part owner. I am sure you will find it just what you want.
