I'm sorry to say, Alan and Fodors friends, I am now unable to join the Cairns GTG. Hope this hasn't caused any problems with numbers etc. I hope you all have a fun and python-free time! I will definitely keep an eye out for future GTG's.

I think the removed comment is one that was put on by some nutter advertising something and providing a link to something else. There are lots missing for the same day on other threads too.

I hope you all have a great time, I'll look forward to reading a report later.

I can't really complain as I'll be on a fabulous trip to New York with 3 girlfriends. We've been planning it for ages and I can hardly believe that it's only a month now until we believe.

I'll think of you on May 28, although maybe not, as I'll be watching the NYC Ballet perform at the Lincoln Centre!!!

Have a wonderful time, cathies! It's a lovely time to be in NYC (what isn't?) and with the Greenback at these levels, there had better be some luggage allowance left for the trip home

What are you going to see? I saw the final dress rehearsal for "Madam Butterfly" ballet here a couple of weeks ago & it was fabulous.

Oops I meant to write until we 'leave'.

Trust me Bokhara2 the luggage won't be full on the way over. We are very excited about the exchange rate and do plan on spending some of our hard earned dollars.

We have booked to see a triple bill rather than a big production number. We saw Madame Butterfly here in Sydney a week or so ago and it was lovely. The NYC Ballet is amazing, it must be a huge company as there was any number of productions to choose from during the month of May.

Folks,
Maria and I are going to bail out on you for this too.

I have been offered a great opportunity for learning and it would mean catching up with a friend of more than twenty years absence. So after careful consideration I have decided it is too good a chance to pass up.

I wish you all a wonderful time and apologise sincerely that I'll not be able to show you around my part of the Wet Tropics on the Sunday. I hope that was not the deciding factor in any of you choosing to come.

The GTG is coming up soon so just wanted to say that I hope that for those who make it, you have a wonderful time.

I would have loved the opportunity to pop up to Cairns but as I expected I will be overseas as that time - I'm just a bit out on the geographical front. I thought I would be in Europe but will actually be in Brunei instead! Not exactly sure how I am going to fill in a week+ there as it is hardly the tourist capital of the world but will try regardless.

Anyway, have a great time and I will raise a mocktail (being a dry country) on the Saturday night to have a drink with you.

Alan that's a shame but understandable - maybe we can catch up next time.

Thanks to CathieS and Shandy for your good wishes. We shall certainly raise a glass ourselves on Saturday night to you all.

So my calculations tell me that we are now Stormbird, Bokhara, MargoOz and Pat - is that correct?

We shall have a wonderful night and will let you know all about it.

Alan

Rats!! I was looking forward to our day out.

Pat - can you suggest an excursion, considering Stormbird needs to be at Cairns airport by 4pm?

What does anyone have planned apart from dinner?

Sorry Margo,
I do feel some guilt but not enough to pass up the chance offered to me over this weekend.

Have a great weekend in Cairns, you lucky people. Would love to have come but not possible during term-time. Perhaps when I have retired . . .
