I am not sure there are any.I was there a few months ago and it all seemed very average.Probably should go down to the Gold Coast or up to the Sunshine Coast both are 1-2 hours from Brisbane.

We live in Darwin but we have been to Brisbane several times and always enjoy it. Two years ago we were there for four days staying in an apartment overlooking the river and we had a magnificent view so I suppose that all adds to the experience. I would recommend you do a walk along the river and have refreshments at one of the many restaurants and coffee places in the city section. Definitely do a trip on the ferry it's wonderful, we did it three times we enjoyed it so much. There are several places you can stop off at along the way and have lunch and then catch a return ferry. We were with our daughter who had come out from London with her fiancee. He was born in Durban SA and it was his first trip to Australia. They visited Darwin, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane and he loved Brisbane best of all. He said it reminded him very much of Durban and said one day they would settle there. The botanic gardens was also an enjoyable experience. Enjoy your trip.

BOB,Lynette and I will be attending the rotary convention in June along with 35 thousand other rotarians. There should be alot of things to do there then. We have made arrangements to go to the Koala sanctuary. Supposedly it is the only place still left in australia where you can actually hold a koala. I have heard that the Gold coast is fantastic as well. Hope to sede you there is you are a rotarian. Hello Lynnette. Only 180 days and counting.

"Straddy" is slang for Stradbroke Island, either of two islands (North Stradbroke or South Stradbroke) located east of Brisbane in Moreton Bay.
