Lanai, Hawaii by far. Never tire of vacationing in this paradise...no t-shirt shops, no car rentals needed, best kept secret of Hawaii. It's gotten more pricey but by far the most 'original' of the Hawaiian Islands. You have your choice of a beach hotel - Manele or in the mountains, the Koehle Lodge. There are less expensive B&Bs as well....but it will be a place you'll always want to return to. Second time we were there, Bill Gates (MicroSoft)was there and he had chosen this hotel for his wedding. Treat yourself to something you might not otherwise ever experience. Best snorkling beaches as well. We are returning in January!

Fiji is the most amazing place I have been so far. We stayed at Muskett Cove Resort and it was like being in a dream!

Hey Jen,
I suggest flying into Los Angeles and go to Disneyland and drive down the coast and hit Laguna Beach and go to San Diego..La Jolla is considered to be one of the prettiest places in the world and the teens that are 13 and 15 would love to snorkel/kayak/boogie board and the water is gorgeous blue..Sea Lodge is Oceanfront on LJ Shores..great spot to hang all week..
Go to Coronado and see the famous Hotel Del Coronado Hotel and have lunch..ride bikes and take the water taxi from downtown SD to the island..
The San Diego Zoo is rated number #1 in the world and we have Sea World and the SD Wild Animal Park..
You can do a combo-pak trip with Vegas or Grand Canyon too..
Best to you!

This thread was started in 2001. Jen has probably finished her trip by now.

I like Melbourne. St Kilda is thriving place for 20-30s year old and oldies like me...Williamstown is lovely, for kids visit Scienceworks, head to Aquarium or Melbourne Zoo...what are your interests>>

Bali. It's very affordable once you arrive, more than enough to see and do. The people are wonderful. We are planning on returning summer of 2008 with our teenage boys.
Fiji/Castaway Island. Very different type of vacation, but still great. The resort is large enough that you and your kids will have the opportunity to meet others. It's a no brainer vacation, especially if you purchase the meal package.
