Best Fish and Chips in Sydney

Where will we find the best fish and chips in Sydney? On previous visits, we've been to the amazing Sydney Fish Market and to Doyles. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

There'd be many in Sydney, two I'm particularly fond of and always pop into when I got back to the old home town are Ocean Seafoods(?) on the Corso in Manly. Well, its Ocean something, just walk up the Corso from where the Manly ferry from Circular Quay takes you - its on your right just before The Corso joins the beachfront Esplanade. The other one I love is at Palm Beach, just opposite the ferry which takes you over to the Basin and Hawkesbury areas, a part of Sydney not mentioned a lot here, but along with its northern beaches, absolutely my favourite part of Sydney.

Thanks, Pat, for your suggestions. Although we've already taken the ferry to Manly during our last visit and enjoyed exploring the area, it may just be on our agenda again. If so, we'll be sure to try Ocean Seafoods. We also spent a memorable day on the Hawkesbury mail ferry.

We'll definitely try The Lord Nelson's at the Rocks for fish and chips. We love visiting interesting pubs, and this sounds like a special place.

Thanks for the advice.

I strongly agree with Tahiti Tams about the Lord Nelson. There also gd fish & chips cafe (don't know the name) at Balmoral beach btw the Bather's Pavilion restaurant & the Watermark restaurant. Get take away fish & chips - sit on the beach & enjoy!

Another gd one is Mohr Fish on Devonshire St, Surry Hill next to the Shakespeare pub. www.mohrandmohr.com.au

Been a few years but La Perouse had great fish and chips and maybe they still do snake shows and boomerang throwing on the weekends?.

My favourite fish and chips when I'm in the Circular Quay area is at Quayside restaurant. You get to enjoy Opera House views as well.
