Australia in December info for patw
Hi Pat,
We will leave the UK on Dec 8th, from London to Tokyo 5 days there.
I have ex colleagues from Tokyo and will spend some time with their families but also we will go it alone for a few days.
We arrive in Melbourne for 6 nights hoping to do so much ! Thanks to this forum and so many people like marg, we have a full itinary
Bendigo area, great ocean road St Kilda and so many other things even the 'Neighbours' set will be visited..lol
We will then go up to Brisbane for 2 nights we will take the kids to one of the great theme parks. Still to be decided.
Xmas 4 nights will be spent on Moreton Island Tangalooma wild dolphin resort. then we will go to Sydney for a week this will take in the New year and hopefully we can get down to Bowral and the Cricket museum and generally tour around in a hire car for some time. I really want to do the Spit to Manley walk (or some of it..lol) as suggested by Alan. Just too many things to list here.
after Sydney and 24 nights away we will head to Singapore for just one last night and then back to London.
We are really looking forward to the trip and it is only 10 weeks to go !!
Our Son is 16 and daughter is 13, this will be their 2nd visit.
This is our main holiday and everyone else in the office has had their break. I meanwhile have been in the office everyday with just a small break.
I NEED A HOLIDAY !!!!!

I've got news for you - you are going to need a holiday after the holiday to recover.
Incidentally, you do know that there is an excellent sporting museum attached to the Melbourne Cricket Ground - yet another place to add to your itinerary.
Don't forget to give us a trip report when you get home.

With any luck you'll be able to see some cricket as well. The Test starts in Sydney the day after New Year. See if the Indians have improved on their dismal World Cup performance!
The Bradman Museum is good (although...your poor wife!) But there are plenty of craft shops and the like in Bowral - perhaps she could get rid of some excess money there, while you did the Museum?

We fly to singapore on Jan 2nd...(more stupid planning by me !!)
So I will miss the test AAAARGHHHH !
Indians will get hammered as everyone seems to do against the Aussies.
But Bowral will be great I wonder if there is a local parks side playing as that's probably all I will get to see this time.
My wife does not need encouragement to shop.
I have to constantly remind her that the credit card limit is in fact a limit and not a target !!!
