Wow that sounds like fun, Melnq8, snowmobling in Yellowstone and seeing very large furry animals. So it's not just the bears you have to watch out for! LOL.

On the snake front, I think I've only seen four snakes in all my years of bushwalking. I did almost pee on a red-bellied black snake at Mount Beauty in Victoria. Well, not on it, more beside it. When I was finished squatting in the bush, I straightened up and I saw it curled up in a spiral on a rock basking in the afternoon sun a couple of feet away. It wasn't the least bit disturbed.

Bokhara -

Its actually been decent here the past few days, so I can't complain too much, but Friday was hideous with a capital H. The Freo Doctor has been noticeably absent lately, but when it's stinking hot, it's stinking hot, wind or no...but then again what can you expect from a wimpy Colorado gal?

Susan7 - Bears, bison, bugling elk, moose, wolves, coyotes, geysers, bubbling hot mud...none of which puts the fear of God into me like an Aussie snake or spider. There's a reason I don't pee in the bush - with my luck, I'd get bitten on the arse and have to explain how it happened to a smug 25 year old doctor.

How is it that I've seen more snakes than the resident Aussies??? It's not as if I seek them out!

Neil, my friends in Winston Hills told me of a funnel web in their garden, but that was probably 15 years ago. We all avoided it, of course. I guess it was maybe Jenolan Caves that had me wondering the most. I do appreciate your insight though. Just like Yellowstone, if one stays on the marked route, you have little chance of encountering anything unexpected!

Bokhara, I've done that walk along the cliff overlooking Bondi. It's really lovely.

While I've got your attention, are "bling" weddings the latest thing in OZ? Meaning, short bling dresses and bling accessories... I have not been to a wedding here in the USA in years, and when I did, I just wore a nice dress or suit. I'm attending a wedding in Parramatta, and the attire is cocktail dress..... I'm in the process of shopping for just the right dress/shoes/jewelry/bag... it's interesting!
