Alpine National Park or Grampians?
DH and I will be visiting Australia in late November. Planning to spend some time in Sydney, GOR, Kangaroo Island, Flinders Range (Wilpena Pound) and either the Grampians or Alpine National Park. Can't decide between Alpine or Grampians. Which would you recommend?

Both Alpine National Park & Grampians are worth visiting, but to get the best experience, you need to do some bush walking through them - not just drive through in a hurry. Grampians park is not as large and has slightly different vegetation to alpine, both have lots of kangaroos. Both have lower level dry eucalypt vegetation (gum trees) and the Alpine has lovely snowgums near the peaks. I think that Mt Buffalo is one of the loveliest places with its pink granite tors and beautiful crimson rosellas (parrots) but Grampians has lots of birds too! Some interpretation talks or walks with the park rangers are worthwhile if available when you visit. You could also travel from Bright (below Mt Buffalo) via Snowy Mountains to Jindabyne in NSW, then through to Canberra & Sydney.
The little towns near Grampians and near the 'Alps' are also worth a stop.
Suggest that you have a look at the Australian National Parks websites.
