3 Weeks in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji

We are planning to spend 3 Weeks in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji starting on the 16 of July. We have four children ages 15,13,7, and 5. We would really like our kids to meet other kids that from that part of the world. Can anyone please let us know if any school holidays take place during the last half of July and what destination are we most likely to meet families that time of year. We'd also appreciate any suggestions on an itinerary. We're thinking about Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Aukland, Rotorua, and Castaway Island. Thanks

Hi Bruce

If you tell us how you plan to get around, it would help with answering your queries.

We had hoped to take a train in Australia, but they seem to take so long that we've decided to fly to most places. We'll probably rent a car in Aukland.

Bruce,
In Australia the state of New South Wales has School holidays from July 5 until July 19 - I am not sure about other States but would imagine they would also be around that time.

I would definitely fly in Australia. Maybe a Whitsunday Island holiday would be good for the kids - they have kids clubs for all ages. You can fly into Proserpine or Hamilton Island and go to an Island from there. Also a resort style hotel in Cairns should have a similar thing. Brisbane has Southbank, and you can hire roller blades in the city for a skate around the Botanical gardens near-bye. The gold Coast is a day trip from Brisbane with many theme parks like Sea World, Dreamworld etc with lots of rides.
