saveflights have a special fare BKK/Colombo/Hyderabad or Chennai or Bangalore or Trivandrum/Colombo/Bangkok (with stopovers in Colombo)for 15,000 baht valid in Dec 2005. This fare plus our Syd/BKK/Syd fare comes out at least $A230 cheaper per person than buying the Syd/BKK/Columbo/India fare from OZ. No wonder people buy air tickets in BKK!!!!!

You're most welcome mr orgy7. Yes, their website is a great research tool and prices compare with olavi. I guess walking into an agent in Khao San Rd gets the best deals but I don't usually have the time! Over & out.

Really, Lynie, you're a mine of information.... why didn't I know about you sooner? I had never heard of this site, either, so I visited it just for fun and found a return flight, Bangkok to New York, for 26000 baht.... that's about $AUD880. I think you have changed forever my way of looking at air travel. Problem is, I have already used up all my money doing things the "old" way, so now I can't go anywhere!

Alan-get that Visa card out of mothballs and USE it! I see United Airlines have some real cheap deals for the reverse leg NY to BKK for $ 450 so maybe they have BKK/NY cheap too. I've compared several trips flying direct from Oz to Turkey, India & Vietnam and it has alway been cheaper for us to buy our "next leg" tickets in either Malaysia, Singapore or BKK. Cicerone here gave me a big tip for Indian fares. Fly to Singapore, go over the border to Johore Bahru & fly via MAS to Mumbai. We booked via www.malaysiaairlines.com. In Feb we saved around $A200 each on prices we were quoted flying Qantas compared to flying Gulf Syd/Sing/Syd A$599 plus taxes then $A500 inc taxes JB to Mumbai/JB. You just get on the net and book and pay later! You know what to do! Have fun!
