Worried about close airline connection.
I was just looking at everything again, and realized that I did not give myself very much time to make a connecting flight it Bangkok, I guess I kept thinking that we were arriving at 9 a.m. and then had a 1 p.m. flight but now I realize that the flight that I was able to get actually leaves at 9:55 a.m.. We are flying in on Thai Airways from Yangon from 9:55a.m.-11:40 a.m. and then we are catching a flight up to Beijing that leaves at 1:00 p.m. I don't know what I was thinking and have a horrible feeling right now. Is this possible at all, if we just get our luggage and go right to check in? This flight isn't until Sept. 21st so I should have time to do something, even though it is already ticketed. Our flight up to Beijing is on Egyptian Air.
Thanks, Heather

Thank you so much Cruisinred. I just purchased the tickets from Air Aisa. Now I am just kicking myself for not knowing about it earlier, since my tickets on Thai Airways were quite a bit higher.
Thank you! Heather

My son recently flew Thai Air from Hong Kong to Bangkok to Kathmandu. His flight arrived in Bangkok at 9:30 AM and next flight left at 10:40 AM. I was sure there'd be problems with such tight connection but flights/connections went smoothly. Good luck.

HLester3-
Glad that worked for you. Have you decided on your final itinerary yet?
shpap- The key thing to note is that your son was travelling all on Thai Air...HLester was switching airlines in BKK...hence the potential for problems

Cruisinred - Thank you again. I am currently on hold trying to get a refund for Thai Air. I figured I would at least try, since it is close to $800. Not holding my breath though.
I have finalized my itenerary, but I am too afraid to post it. It really is disheartening after I am looking so forward to the trip and spend so much time doing research and someone (not you) blows it to smitherines because they travel differently. It makes me less excited. But as you can probably tell, I took out all the stops in China except for our departure city of Beijing and decided to do almost 5 days in Burma.

Since Thai Air is a full-service airline, you should be able to get some sort of refund. How much of a refund you can get depends on teh fare class. If it was an unrestricted ticket, then there is only a small penalty. Read the fine print on your ticket.

Thank you Kathie and Shpap for your replies. I was on hold two different times yesterday with Thai Airlines, one for 1 Hr 15 Min and one for 1 Hr 45 Min. I didn't get through either time. The really bad part is that they play the same song over and over again on hold. I haven't gotten my tickets yet in the mail and I could't find anything on line.
