who to use?? can any help
Okay little quandry have booked accomadation +flight with travel agent thru octopus yesterday for Bangkok and staying at Mandarin Hotel Was prepared to pay $20 extra than quoted at most other sites ( total $420 for 12 days) for accomadation thru agent as all was done at once ( need to pay for it all by tomorrow 22/1/06) arrived home to have response on email from Supin agent for www.bangkok.thaihoteldiscount.com/ They have quoted $359 and that includes their 3% which is now quite a considerable saving. I have to pay all this up front ( no problem ) however I dont want to arrive in Bangkok and find that I have no room and I have been ripped off
So anyone ! would you just pay the fare thru the travel agent and not worry about the $60 well actually its $80 if I include the other $20
or has anyone used the above brokers and all has been well or has someone used them and been ripped off to find themselves without a room
Phew all this for $60 sometimes I really got to take check of myself
Anyway hope someone can help

I have to say that I haven't used a travel agent in many, many years. I can always do it more cheaply myself, and I get exactly what I wast, not what the travel agent thinks I should want. I've used a number of different internet booking sites, and I've never had a problem. Sorry, I don't remember whether I've used that one or not. You'll have to do what you are most comfortable with.

the pirce on hua hin site is $33.20 per nite incl tax/service and breakfast...
the pics look fantastic and the location is ok...
not sure of the actual quality however...i would proceed with caution...
maybe jamesA will answer something about this hotel...
did someone reccomend it to you....it is a lower end type place at $33....
sorry if i put too much caution in here...

Rhkmk thanks for the other site suggestion will cancell thru travel agent the accomadtion booking and do it on the net
As for the hotel heard a few great stories about it and a few bad ones decided to rish it as yep pics look great area is good and as its cheap if its lousy I can always check into something else without too much lost
maybe someone on this forum knows of the hotel and ahhh it will be an adventure no matter what the outcome

Suggestion: if you haven't stayed at the hotel yourself why not just book say 2 nights, when you get there see how you like it, have a look around and see if you prefer elsewhere, unless you are traveling at some mega peak time you really should not need to worry, if you just book a couple of nights then see if you want to stay there or move elsewhere
