Which hotel in the Maldives

So we finally made a few adjustments to our plans and will have 7 days in the Maldives after leaving Thailand.

So now...where to stay...

Our thoughts were:
1. The Banyan Tree
2. LG Four Seasons with a stint on the Explorer
3. Soneva Gili
4. Anantara
5. One and Only Kanuhura

We are looking for:
1. good snorkeling and possibly diving (we will have done scuba in the Similans in Thailand the week before)--if the snorkeling was right out the front door of the bungalow the better

2. Some sort of privacy for romantic getaway (1st trip without kids for a while)

3. Good food if possible

4. Great service

5. Worth the money paid (don't mind paying the bucks for a good place...but it need to be inline with what you pay)

So...this is where you all come in. What would you do and why?
I have heard such great things about the Maldives and now I am excited to finally see all the hype!

Thanks!!

Hi Mom!

If you are going to spend 7 days in the Maldives have you considered island hopping or moving around from one resort to another? Each resort is an island, very small one at that, and it does get a bit boring after a few days. Same resort restaurants day after day...

I recently stayed at the Soneva Gili and then after a couple of days flew by seaplane to their other resort the Soneva Fushi. Both Sonevas has a different theme to it and we enjoyed both greatly. The Banyan Tree and others have multiple resorts in the Maldives so the same could be done - island hopping.

Both Soneva resorts are very romantic with a lot of private space, good service and great food. You can't go wrong if you want a romantic getaway!

The One and Only Kanuhura is the best on your list. Check the feed back and pictures from tripadvisor.com.

Definitely option #2!!!! The FS LG is fabulous and the Explorer is also fabulous and gives you a view of the rest of the Maldives and its diving/snorkeling spots.

Search for my comprehensive trip report on this forum. We made the trip last March.

No, I can't make it work. Just search for "fs lg" and it will be the only post to come up.

One and Only Kanuhura is good resort, they just renovated in 2004. I have stayed last April, it is great time for me and girl friend, you can check the information from this site : http://www.hotelsguru.com/showhotel-22071.html

It is good that they have many facilities that we can enjoy all day.
