What to pack for a trip to Bangkok in August?
Hello all!

I'll be going to Bangkok from the Los Angeles, California USA for the first time for about 4 days in August.

I've heard from quite a few people so far, that it's going to be incredibly hot in August.

Some pointers on what to pack? Fabrics?

Do I need to pack an umbrella?

Thanks!

Ricardo

OK, Ricky, here's the scoop: my sister, who has been to Bangkok in July says that rule #1 is to bring an umbrella. You can use it to deflect both rain and the beating sun.

I would also pack light-fabric clothing such as cotton, linen, or silk. Whites, tans, and pastels would be best. No black.

I would also bring extra clothing because you may have to change frequently because of the soaking humidity.

Bring a hat.

Don't forget comfortable footwear.

And if you really are a Holden Caufield type, you will pack everything in Mark Cross luggage!!

Ciao,
John G.

I was in Thailand last August, I found that when it rained it REALLY poured!! but that would only last for ten minutes at the most, so quick dry clothing and a umbrella definitely. Also to enter certain temples, long pants and long sleeved shirts are needed.
