What do do with our extra time in Myanmar?

Was able to get frequent flier seats a little later so can extend our nature/birding trip to Myanmar. Should we extend our time in Bagan, Inle Lake or Ngapali? Other suggestions? We now have 12+ nights (our flight leaves at 1 am the 13th night).

Right now, have

2 nights in Yangon (1 day trip for birding to nearby park),

2 nights in Bagan,

1 night Kalaw,

2 nights Inle Lake,

3 nights Ngapali,

1 night+ in Yangon (flight leaves at 1 am the next night).

Thank you.

I would add a night for either Bagan or Inle. Perhaps you can take a night away from Ngapali as well and add nights to both Bagan and Inle.

I agree with H. You could definately use the extra time in Bagan and Inle Lake. We spent 4 nights in each and thought that was about right for us. If your priority is beach time over scenery and cultural experiences, then you could add the extra days to Ngapali, but that would be too much beach time for me.

I also agree that you need more time in both Inle and Bagan. You have two nights in each, which is only one full day.

I'd suggest you save all of your Yangon time for the end. Fly to Bagan as soon as you get to Burma. By doing that, you can get another night to add somewhere else. I always recommend 4 nights each in Inle and Bagan, and would not recommend fewer than three nights in either place.
Also, pause and consider whether one night in Kalaw is worth it to you. I rarely find a one-night stay worthwhile.

We spent 1 night in Kalaw because we wanted to see Pindaya Caves, and the scheduling worked out that we had to spend the night in Kalaw. I did not mind the one night stay, and was happy we did not allocate more time to Kalaw. There is not a lot to do there unless you plan on doing some hiking, which we did not plan on doing.

Thanks for the suggestions. DEfinitely something to mull over. Was hoping to get some clothes tailored in Yangon so at least some time at both the beginning and end of our trip is needed. We will be birding in Kalaw.

Yangon is really not a place to get clothes tailored unless you want longii. They are not accustomed to tailoring western clothing, and the few people I know who had it done ended up with items that had odd errors. If you want tailoring, try Bangkok. In any case, you need multiple fittings to get good tailoring, and two days at the beginning and one at the end would be unlikely to give you good results even in the cities best known for tailoring.

If you're into birding then I suggest the extra time at Inle lake-as it is relaxing as well as beautiful and there are many places to visit on the lake if you rent a boat and driver. Bagan is also unique and beuatiful but can get very hot and dusty depending on the time of year. What month are you planning to go?

We are arriving in Myanmar Jan 5 (10 am) and leaving Jan 18 (1 am) so turns out I miscounted--we will have 13 nights. So, have added a night each in Bagan and Inle Lake.

Unfortunately we won't be visiting Bangkok on this trip. I have had very nice clothes made in both Bangkok and Singapore in the past (Bangkok was my favorite) and they didn't require more than 2 or so fittings.

You will find Yangon to be in a different time zone from Bangkok and Singapore by many decades. I've had clothes made in Bangkok, SIngapore and Hong Kong, and wouldn't consider Yangon for tailoring.
