Visa for India
Hi
I'm in Bali and I'm looking at going to India for a month on my way home. I'm an Irish citizen
I've been reading different forums about obtaining a visa for India while in Asia.
It seems that I can't get one in Jakarta, Singapore or Kuala Lumpa.
Bangkok may be a possibility ??
Please HELP
I would really appreciate any advice that you may have.
Thank You

You can get a visa to India while in Bali but you have to go through a travel agency that has a sponsor agreement with India. They will send your passport to the Indian embassy in Jakarta to be procesed and then send it back to Bali. But it takes at least ten WORKING days plus transit times, so plan for 3 weeks for processing.
I did it recently but I only got my passport back ONE DAY before my flight to India!!!

Never have done this from Bali.Had no problem getting a Indian visa in Bangkok years past. You can either go to the embassy yourself, or save yourself the hassle and for a small fee get a travel agent on Koa San road to do it all for you. Either way, it's very easy but takes about 5 days unless you get very lucky.Check Ireland consular advisories Idia for all India details. www.indiamike.com many good threads.
Good luck!
