Viengtai or Buddy Lodge

Hi!

I'll be leaving for Bangkok soon and staying at Khao San Road for 3 nights. Between Buddy Lodge and Viengtai, which hotel should I choose?
They both have a perfect location and swimmingpool, though Viengtai's swimmingpool looks somewhat dark and as if was in shade, sorounded with high buildings.

Can anybody help me decide, if you have any info on Viengtai swimmingpool, I would appreciate it very much.

You may what to try posting this question on the Thorntree, Lonely Planet's website. More of the people on that board stay around KSR.

I have two very close friends who travel to Thailand on business every June. They always stay at Viengtai, even though they can afford more expensive hotels. It is a very good choice for budget accom and not right on KSR. They've said the pool is good. Both places have good reputations and are great if you want to go and check out the travel agents in KSR for some great deals to Europe of the US. Good luck.

I can only comment on the Viengtai as we used to put business customers up there who didn't want the more expensive places and wanted something budget they all thought it was fine.
