Udaipur's Lake Pichola
My husband and I will be in Udaipur in mid-January. I have read conflicting discussions as to whether Lake Pichola has water in it or not. Anybody been there recently? I'd love to know what to expect. Many thanks.

The best meal we had was at Ambrai - it's across a small little finger of the lake and across a little bridge. Then you have a gorgeous view back towards the City Palace and the Lake Palace. Lot of locals and tourists. The tandoori chicken was the best we had in India.

Our hotel, Lake Pichola Hotel, also recommended Ambrai. The setting is beautiful with views of Lake Palace and City Palace. I'm not a big fan of Indian food, so I would not be the best person to judge the food. My fiance got food poisoning from the banana lassi there, so I would avoid the lassi. Luckily, I didn't have the lassi so I was fine.
