Ubud then best Beach - Jimbaran?

Honeymoon in Bali early October 2011. Based on some information on these forums it's clear to spend some time in Ubud. That will probably be the first few days of our trip. Then on to the beaches. What is the best beach area/hotel for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing right off the beach? Seems that Jimbaran Bay may be a good option - centally located between Kuta and Uluwatu for exploring.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I can't think of any beach that combines swimming, snorkling and surfing. Snorkling is confined to certain areas in the north and east. Jimbaran and Sanur are good swimming beaches but not good surfing.

Kuta all the way north to Canggu including Legian/Seminyak are good for surfing right off the beach. Plenty of people swim there too, if you like big waves.

Ulu Watu and the southern tip of Bali is in a surfing class of itself so it really depends how focused you are on surfing and on what level.

For the best combination of surfing, swimming, restaurants, shops, spas, nightlife -- and honeymoon appropriate accomodation I'd probably go with Seminyak. Then plan day trips to Ulu Watu and a snorkling destination like the east coast or Menjagnan in the North.

Have a look at Nusa Lembongan - great swimming, snorkelling and diving. Maybe surfing too - not sure about that.

Suggest you ask Murni who is very helpful - she also has a great place to stay in Ubud - www.murnis.com
