trip advice

Hey folks.
My wife and I have about 2 wks (12 nights) at our disposal to spend in Thailand. I lived in Bangkok for 8 years but have not been back for 20 years. My brother resides in Bangkok.
Our thoughts are: 2 nights in Chiang Mai
4-5 nights in Phuket
5-6 nights in Bangkok
I have never been to Chiang Mai & Phuket. We envision elephant riding/hiking in Chiang Mai and relaxing /scuba diving in Phuket.
Thanks for your input...

This sounds like a good itinerary. I personally would spend more time in Chiang Mai (or Chiang Rai, which I like better) and less in Phuket, which I didn't really care for. BUT, I'm not much of a beach person. If you are, then your plan is good.

Your itinerary sounds fine. I think you will enjoy each of your locations. What time of year will you be going? If it is during peak season (Dec thru end of Jan, early Feb) then you should be making your reservations ASAP.
