Transit hotel-Singapore?

Has anyone stayed at the Transit hotel in the airport in Singapore? I'd love some sort of review.

Thanks

I've stayed there a couple of times. The rooms are VERY basic. They are clean. They are good for catching a few hours of sleep between flights, but I'd stay elsewhere if I had even a half a day.

It occurs to me that it would help you picture the rooms by saying that I wouldn't describe this as a hotel, but rather as slleping rooms. There are two single beds in each room, with a nightstand and lamp between them. Many of the rooms have no window. There is a basic bathroom with a shower. The towels are thin, the bed linens are rough. It is a place to sleep for a few hours, and that's all.

Just to add to what Kathie has already said, the rooms are fine for a short layover with the convenience of being within the transit area of the hotel, but note they charge by blocks of hours ( I think it is 4 hours per block price ) and once you get over 8 hours it is just as cheap ( or cheaper ) to head to a downtown hotel, but this all depends how much time you have, for anything under 12 hours total duration it's fine but they are very much 'rooms' as Kathie described as opposed to 'hotel rooms' and not for the clautrophobic, but good to leave your stuff, have a shower and a few hours sleep, you should book in advance as they get full.

My hubby and I stayed at the transit hotel in Singapore. We had a 12 hr layover, but the catch is that the layover was from 10:00pm until 10:00am. We did not want to go through customs and everything for such an odd length of time so we got a room. The rooms are basic (nothing like the fabulous accomodations in Bali). To make matters worse, the 'hotel' was full when we arrived and they were doing construction to expand. This was November 2005 so I would check. We were able to rest a bit because they gave us earplugs and we were so tired after our brief flight from Bali. The rooms are clean though.
