Transfer to PP Island Village from Railay

We will be staying at Sunrise Tropical Resort in Railay Beach and will be travelling to PP Island Village afterwards. Should we arrange the transfer from the hotel or does the hotel arrange for guests to be picked up at Ton Sai pier? Should we take the ferry from Ao Nang? Any advice for travelling from Railay to Phi Phi?

Believe me when I say you won't have any trouble getting transport to your hotel on Phi Phi.

As you get off the ferry you will be "greeted" by many people including long tail drivers.

I would first ask your hotel if they provide transport. I don't know where your hotel is located but I would guess the trip would be 200-300 baht at most.

I am not sure about this but you may be able to catch the ferry from West Railay. We did the reverse trip and the ferry dropped us off on West Railay. Be prepared to wade in the water as there is no pier on West Railay.

The walk from East Railay to West Railay from Sunrise Tropical is on a short pathed path and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

Enjoy!

We loved Sunrise Tropical!! It is a beautiful resort with very nice people.

Hi eurotraveller-

Thanks for the info! How did you get to the Sunrise Tropical? Did you arrange through the hotel to pick you up from the airport?

Also-my husband and I are planning to go to the GTG on 11/25. Looking forward to meeting in person!

pmalinow, so glad to hear you will join us for the get together at the Tawandang Brewery! What is your name?

We arrived on West Railay via ferry from Ko Phi Phi. The ferry stays out from the beach and tehy bring in a long tail to ferry everyone to the beach. You then hop off the long tail into the water and wade several feet to the sand.

From there it is a crap shoot! We didn't have anyone that greeted us at the beach but many people did. We wandered up toward the restaurants and hotels, found the very well marked path to East Railay and we were on our way.

The path will lead you almost to the front of your hotel. At the end of the path, take a left, pass the little convenience store and you are there.

The front of the hotel is basically a big outdoor restaurant with the lobby in the back.

The rooms are beautiful and there will be a fresh fruit basket upon your arrival and I think they offered us a beverage.

There is a small frig in the room so you can buy beer and soda from the convenience store and store them in your room.

A lot of the night life happens further down on East Railay.

If you haven't seen a link to my photos yet you can go to www.windjammer.smugmug.com and go to the Thailand/Cambodia album. I have several photos of Sunrise Tropical.

Let me know if you have other questions!

Cheers!

My name is Patti and my husband is Andrew. Really looking forward to meeting everyone! This is our first trip to Thailand.

You were the one that actually introduced us to the Sunrise Tropical resort in previous postings and we have referenced your website a few times to make our decision. Thank you very much for all of the useful information. We can't wait for our trip!
