In January, we booked a tour at our hotel (Royal Orchid) with the "Tour East" company for a day-long trip to Ayutthaya and Bang Pa-In (up on bus, returning on boat, lunch included). For 2 persons, the fee was US$77.28, per the credit card bill. We enjoyed it. I'm sure there are better tours, but we weren't dissatisfied with this one.
The tour began and ended at the River City Center.

we have turismo thai...they do nowrthwest airlines as well....they have a web site...
i have also used asian trails and they have a web site....
remember that getting around in bangkok is the hardest part....it is very slow...make sure you pick the most important sites for you and have them know this....a custom tour might be best for you...
important places to me are:
grand palace of course
vimark (spelled wrong) teak palace, near the parliament and zoo
suan pakard palace --will only take 1/2 hour to see
wat po
marble wat
a ride on the river...say from the grand palace to taskim pier (sky train station also)---this is a must to understand and appreciate bkk...
a walk on silom road, sukumvit road and maybe a visit at nite to patpong area
a visit to mkb shopping area near siam square
a skytrain ride
reclining budda wat--forget name
