My question is that we will be in Chaingi Mai and Bangkok in early February what kind of shoes do vacationers wear? Also what is the temperature there? If you were going to be staying three weeks what amount of money would you bring?thanks youtt

Saw topless gals on Phuket at Kata Beach. Judging from their language, I think they were perhaps German. You really do not see Thais on the beach, unless they are walking along trying to sell something to the tourists there.
Weather in Chiang Mai should be really nice in February, with even cool temps at night, I'd guess. Bangkok is always hot! I agree that jeans are not a good choice. Wear cotton in light colors. I personally do not wear shorts while there. Capris or cropped pants work better for me. That way, I know I won't get stopped at the door if I want to enter the Oriental or a temple!
