Karen, just dress correctly, that's all. Best are loose cotton or linen items. No short shorts, please and no tiny tank tops. To be definitely avoided: All synthetics and tight denim jeans. You'll feel too hot wearing them.

Please keep in mind that in the desert, people dress to protect themselves from the sun.

Visited Thailand over Xmas. Very hot. At the Palace / Buddhas your upper arms and upper legs have to be covered. The guards will supply you with the appropriate clothing, so go correctly dressed or you will be given someone else's clothing to temporarily wear. You are also expected to remove your shoes when entering the temples. Be careful of slippery marble floors if you are wearing socks or sockings.
A truly wonderful experience. Do not miss the floating market and remember to bargain with all the vendors. Cut the price in 1/2 and if they disagree, then walk away... negotiate and enjoy every purchase! Lots of fun.
