Tokyo hotels: CHT or Okura
Would you recommend that Century Hyatt or the Hotel Okura for a few days in Tokyo on vacation with my wife? After a lot of browsing we've narrowed choice down to these two. Room size and view more important than decor and amenities (within reason). The frequently recommended Park Hyatt is more than we want to spend.

Before you book either of those, check out the Mansions at Roppongi. They have the largest and newest rooms in Tokyo. It is actually more of a short term stay apartment than a hotel. I have stayed there on a 1 day visit and a 3 day trip. I got excellent prices through asia-hotels.com. Just don't expect a good view from here. My last room had a balcony that overlooked a cemetery.
The airport buses don't stop here so you either have to walk or take a very short taxi ride from the ANA Hotel.

>>Okura ... has more spacious rooms than CHT>>
A regular room at the Okura is from 33-40 square meter. A "grand" room at the CHT is 40 sm and is less expensive than the Okura.
>>either will satisfy you. You should choose one by location>>
I suspect that's exactly right.

Four Seasons at Chinzan-so. They are having a special now...pay two nights and get the third free. Rooms are huge, 460 to 600 square feet with views of the gardens or city. And the personal service of the staff is second to none in Tokyo, espcially the concierges. Last week, we were able to get tickets to the final day of the sumo tournament! Compare what you'd pay at Okura or Hyatt and you'll be surprised.
