Tigers in India/which park?
I am just in the beginning process in planning our trip to India for Jan 05 and I was wondering which park is the best for viewing game, esp tigers? Also, has anyone stayed at Aman-i-Khas? Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks

Wow, u are planning in advance! Ranthambore is the place and other than Aman-i-Khas you can also consider vanya Vilas (www.oberoihotels.com) or Sher Bagh. Aman-i-Khas is very new so u may not get feedback from someone who has stayed there but am sure it is fabulos. What else are u planning apart from tigers?

We would like to see the Taj Mahal, Jaipur, maybe take a safari in the desert...There is so much to see and do in India, it's very hard narrowing it down into 2.5 weeks. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks again.

In Agra the place to stay is Amar Vilas. It is an Oberoi property - every room gets a unique and diff view of the Taj. In jaipur u can consider Raj Vilas (Oberoi again) or Samoda Palace. Check out www.heritagehotels.com for other hotels and loads of other info - look at Samode palace, gorgeous. On the outskirts of Del on Del-Jaipur highway is Neemrana palace Fort - well worth a visit. The Jet Airways site will help u fig out flt timings and routings. If u want to shop plan 3-4 days in Del, else 2-3 should be ok. In Del stay at the Imperial hotel - charming.

If you are looking for guaranteed luxury and excellent service, you'll find it at the Aman. My husband and I (and thousands of others) are Aman Junkies. We travel to far away places just to stay at their resorts. Consider too, that we have given up all Four Season's and Ritz Carlton experiences worldwide in favor of the Amans!
Go to amanresorts.com if you haven't already since they have recently updated their Web site to include information about both of their properties in India and they offer private tours/packages and safaris that are priced very aggressively. I promise you that you would not be dissapointed in anything that they had to offer.
