Ticket price EWR to BKK
We are starting to plan a trip to Thailand for next year during the high season. It's too early to book flights for late Nov. departure and return in mid Dec. Does anyone know what a great price would be vs. an ok price. Any suggestions on airlines. We don't know much about EVA air. Northwest is an option because we have miles. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Whether from EWR/JFK you have the European carriers, also it is worth trying Emirates as they have non-stop from NYC (not sure if JFK or EWR ) to Dubai and connection to Bangkok, Kuwait Airways should be cheap but check the connection time in Kuwait. Ludthansa, Air France, Scandinavian, Finnair, Swiss and others offer connections over Europe.
Eva Air is superb if you get the Economy de-luxe, just 8 seats across on a 747 instead of usual 10 across plus extra legroom (38" I think ), more than normal coach fare but most agree worth every cent.

You can get Continental miles by flying EVA AIR- they also had a good price to BKK when we flew them in April of this year- $975 round trip Evergreen Deluxe class from Houston to BKK. The seating is 4 across in the very front of the plane (2 x 2). Its great service and the price is not that much more than regular coach. We are also flying them to Manila in late feb. Cost Houston to Manila in Evergreen Deluxe is $1050.

I was pricing tickets to BKK from D.C. this year. The best ticket prices I saw on United were $788. Almost booked a trip to BKK with stopover in Tokyo on return for $808. Those prices include airfare, taxes, and fees. Travel dates that I checked were outbound on Dec 26-28 and return Jan 11-13. I started looking in mid-June and those fares for that time period disappeared around July 9.

anything under a $1000 is a good fare....you can do eva air from newark to bkk for about $822...i would think that you might plan on buying around the april/may time frame....i always go N/W and find that sometimes i have a problem with the narita-bkk leg....often full...as far as miles are concerned with n/w, you can book about 352 days in advance....my last trip i did on day 352 with no problems...its about 60,000 miles...
