The Sands Macau

I read from newspaper that it's Las Vegas in Asia. There's also shopping complex not only casino.Unfortunately, no other details in the news.

Does anyone know how to get there from
Macao Terminal and where to book the hotel.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I haven't been there yet, so I don't know the details. But in general, the easiest and cheapest way to book Macau hotels is through one of the travel agents at the ferry terminal in Hong Kong. The rates you can get there are significantly cheaper than if you call the hotel directly, or book through an internet agent.

As for transport, most hotels have shuttle service from the pier, but usually they aren't that frequent. There are also bus service, but again, slow and infrequent. Taxi is really the best way. Macau is a pretty small place, and even if going to Sands it shouldn't cost you more than US$15 or so. Less than a hand of blackjack most people play... Perhaps there are frequent shuttles to Sands, but again, I don't know the details at this time.

It's relatively close to the ferry terminal. If you don't have luggage, you could walk there in 10 to 15 minutes. If you take a taxi, you will be there in 5 minutes and it will not cost you more than USD$2.

I heard that you could not book a room in Sands because they are reserved for VIPs.

Oh, is the Sands that close to the ferry? I thought it was built between Taipa and Coloane. Well, I will go to Macau this Christmas and check out all the new places.

rkkwan, the Sands is just next to the Hotel Mandarin Oriental. There will be other complexes between Taipa and Coloane but they will be ready much later.
