Sukhothai Historical Park, Thailand
Has anyone travelled to Sukhothai recently.
Is Sukhothai really worth a visit? I know of nobody who has been there and I am just going on the photos I've seen of the sights. My husband and I plan to travel there in May and we are staying for 2 nights only. Is this enough time just to see the world heritage sights.
Also, we are planning on staying at the Quantum Sukhothai Resort Hotel. Is this hotel OK for location and amenities? Is there a better hotel someone can recommend?

Hi yes I have been to Sukhothai,it was about a year and a half ago but it was one of my most memorable places that i stopped. I stayed at the Lotus Village, great!! Awesome history, rent a bike and bike threw the pristine park with ancient ruins of buddhas, undescribable, enjoy!!

I agree. I, too, stayed at the Lotus Village which, in itself, was a nice experience! I'm a ruins junkie that's been to most (Angkor, Bagan, etc., etc.) and I would definitely say that Sukhothai is worth the visit. There's a shuttle "bus" that's located walking distance from Lotus Village and they'll drop you in front of a bicycle rental in Old Sukhothai. Doing Sukhothai on a bicycle is the best way of doing it. There are also a lot of nice, clean eating places along this stretch of the road. I don't know what the temperature or weather will be like in May, but 2 nights should be sufficient.

Hi guys,

It was great, but we stayed in phitsanulok for two nights, and caught a mini-bus arranged by Pailyn hotel. This was more convenient as we were travelling Thailand via train. Train travel is a good way to see Thailand as a lone traveller and a family.
