Suggestion on Hokkaido 5 Days Itinerary
Hello,
I plan to go to Hokkaido on 16-22 Jan next year. I am really excited to experience the winter there. But, I need suggestions for my itinerary.
16/1:
Flight from KL to Chitose
17/1:
Arrive in Chitose
Sightseeing Sapporo
18/1:
Day trip to Otaru
19/1:
Train to Asahikawa
Asahiyama Zoo
Blue Pond
Shirahige Fall
(stay a night in Asahikawa)
20/1:
Train to Abashiri
Abashiri Drift Ice
Train Back to Sapporo
21/1:
Train to Lake Toya
(stay a night near Chitose airport)
22/1:
Flight back to KL
How does it looks? Is it ok? However, can anyone tell me if there's any buses running from Asahiyama Zoo to Blue Pond and to Shirahige Fall and back to the train station?
Best regards,
Bill

The highlight of Otaru in winter are the snow lanterns along the canal in the evening and the night view of the city. Other than that unless there is something specific you have planned, I don't think you need an entire day to explore the town, we saw most of what we wanted in a few hours wandering around. It's was a relatively quick train ride over from Sapporo Station.
