Somerset Suwan Park View Apartment in Bangkok

Who was it that stayed at the Somerset Suwan Park View Apartment in Bangkok? I've forgotten. I think it was Hobbes(?) and someone else I remembered stayed there pretty recently. How did you contact them? What website? Did you just go through moveandstay.com? If you had a one-bedroom apartment,do you remember how many square meters it was and what the weekly price was? Last year when I was doing my apartment research, that was the building at the top of my list, but I thought the quoted price was high on moveandstay.com. I'll rent for either 2 weeks or the entire 3 weeks that I'll be in Bangkok during the December/January vacation trip.I plan to drop by there on the August trip, but if I don't get there for some reason, it's good to have a backup system. Happy Travels!

I did not stay there but visited a friend who was. I love the CHitlom location - we lived on Soi SOimkid when we lived in Bkk. I do not know exact dimensions but remember the 1b/r had a comfy sitting area wth kitchenette. You could also look at Emporium Suites - we have stayed in the 1000 sq feet one bedroom, 1.5 bathroom earlier and recently spent a night in the 300 sq feet 1 bedroom with kitchenette. Both spacious and comfy. I did not contact either as my partners co took care of bookings - sorry no info re this.

Thanks Hobbes. I also had the Emporium on my list, but it's so expensive.I remember that someone wrote, last year, that the prices had gone up considerably. I love the Chilom location of the Somerset Suwan Park View. That's my favorite area of the city as I,as you also do,stay at the FS in the same area. Thanks again. Happy Travels!

Hi Guenmai. We stayed at the Somerset Suwan Park in January this year. I booked on their website.....all online and with a very reasonable cancellation policy. i have copied my previous post below so you can see the details. As for the size of the 1 bedroomed apartment we stayed in, I really cant help....my husband will tell you I'm useless in space estimates. All I can say is that the bedroom was big enough for a very large bed ( queen or possibly king) and the upside was that the bed was very comfortable. There was lots of cupboard space and a dressing table. En suite bathroom was well equipped...shower over the bath. The living area had a 4 seater table couple of comfy chairs and couches, large TV and DVD player. We just loved this place. It was spotless, comfortable and,as you know, so convenient. and the staff were charming....nothing too much trouble.Anyway, here is a copy of my previous post.
"We stayed in a sister property to Omni called Somerset Suwan Park View. Also apartments and they seemed fairly new.Facilities etc.are very similar to those at Omni and we were very happy with the accommodation and the amenities. Price wise, I think a bit more than Omni .Round THB 3200 including breakfast which was large and excellent.
The area is great if you want to be near skytrain and shops.Apartments are situated in Soi Tonson, which is between Langsuan and Wireless Roads (parallel to them). An easy stroll to the Chitlom skytrain station( no more than 5 minutes, if that) and to the very large supermarket at Central Dept Store, but situated in a quiet area. Lumphini Park is also close by.I can highly recommend both the accommodation and area. We travelled on the skytrain all the time. Of course, many journeys down to the river and Sukhimvit Road area was only a station or two away.

I booked directly with Somerset via their website.A 5 minute operation, instant availability check, and no deposit, just credit card details. They were also super efficient when we had to modify our booking due to the Tsunami.

Good luck Guenmai.

Lin 29...Thanks a million for the website. I remembered your post of last year, but couldn't remember who had posted it. Back then I had picked out the same apartment building so was excited when I saw your post. It always helps when someone has actually stayed at a place. So, I guess I'm all set. I'll try to drop by the building on the August vacation trip and then move in to the place on the Dec/Jan vacation trip to BK. Thanks again. Happy Travels!
