Smeagol stuck in penang

i just exchanged a number of e mails with nikki....she is stuck in penang at the E&O...not a bad place to be stuck....they flew to asia from london on eva and they are scheduled to fly out of bkk....

they are going to sit back for a day or two and see what happens...

too bad she put so much into planning this trip....

I can think of much worse places to be stuck. Well, if they have to stay in Penang they will have fewer flights and Muffin will be happy!.

Send my best wishes to her and tell her to enjoy!

Hi everyone - yes still at the E & O who are being wonderful and rebooking us in day by day.

plan B may be fly home via Singapore (which is a gutter as our BKK flights were in biz and they will ned to be in Economy but at the mo we will be glad to be back home!!!) actually i don't mind when it is just would like to have a plan. Muffin is currently by the pool and i thought i would check in here.

I have put a bit more about our predicament on Filmwills thread. I am grateful we were not one of those poor people in Mumbai and this is indeed a great place to be holed up.

Will let you all know how we get on
X

Enjoy the E&O - it is your vacation after all.

I'm sure it's disconcerting to not know how you are getting home. I can't remember which airline you are flying - any chance you could fly out of KL?

We had a wonderful stay at the E&O just a couple of weeks ago. And we loved Penang. My trip report will be forthcoming but if you are still stuck there, I would recommend doing a heritage walk with Joann, who is one of the guides at the Blue Mansion. And our dinners at Ocean Green and Red Garden were two of our best in all of SEAsia.
Nonetheless,I am sure it is nervewracking and hope you escape soon.

just had notification our plane has had to be changed ARGHHH oh well not by too long, using the free internet at Changi.I have flown out of here many times but terminal 3 is something else. Will do a trip report when i get back its been an eventful 2 weeks and am gutted we missed out on BKK and Tong.

We did have the option to fly out of U-Tapeo but we couldnt get there in time and to be honest would have taken best part of a day by train and bus and we have since heard it is CHAOS there.

Glad to hear you are on your way. I agree, flying out of Changi is a better idea than U-Tapeo!
