Singapore to Kuala Lumpur Day Trip??

I am arriving in SIN late on Saturday nite, and wondering whether those of you with more experience than I would think a quick stop downtown SIN with a return to Changi for an early morning flight to KUL (returning late that next evening) would be worth the 10-12 hours???

I have been to Singapore once before, and was just hoping that a day spent in KL would be worthwhile.....If not, any suggestions as to a "different" destination for a day trip out of SIN?

I will then have 24 hours in SIN to get my fill of Chili Crab and Hawker Centers!!
Thanks in advance and Best wishes!!

You can of course get an early morning flight up to KL and then come back that night, though personally I think it is quite a way. I think you would be better off exploring Singapore. If you have been before you might try the East Park area/beach. The MRT really goes to some great places off the normal tourist trail. As you are there on a Sunday I think you will find that there are plenty of things to do. When you arrive pick up a copy of Saturday's paper and check what is going on. Sundays are a very 'social' day in Singapore, often their are charity gatherings, special events, and certainly down on the East coast area people are on the beach, having a day out with the family. Gives you a different insight into Singapore life and the lifestyle of Singaporeans.
I wouldn't swop that for a very expensive day trip to KL on a Sunday!

Frankly, I find Singapore a more interesting city than KL. In any case, an early morning flight to KL and a late evening return still wouldn't give you more than a few hours in KL (the new airport is quite a ways from the city). Unless you have something really special planned for KL, I'd stay in SIngapore for the day.

I don't know what your interests are, but I always enjoy the botanical gardens in SIngapore, especially the Orchid garden, the Asian Cultural Museum, the charming little museum at Raffles... For outdoor things, there is the nature preserve you can hike in, the Jurong Bird Park, the Zoo (especially the night exhibit). There is plenty to keep me busy in Singapore!

i agree with kathy...kl is really boring, although singapore is not far behind...try visiting some of the near-by islands?? the orchid garden is simply fabulous even if you are not a flower fancier...the park is lovely..won't you also be quite tired after your previous flight too???

Thanks to all for your replies!!! I have been to SIN once before, and did enjoy lots of "off path" tourist things....
But I do appreciate the sentiment, and so will likely not try the KUL flight. OTOH: I am going to do the Night Safari this time around, as Jurong Bird Park got in the "way" last time!!

I didn't realize that Sunday was a "social" day in SIN and it could certainly be fun to check out other local things going on!
My thanks for your time and thoughts,,,,I'm really looking forward to a couple of chili crabs SOON!!
Best wishes, Dave
