Joining the SQ party wagon. Completely agree with the two previous posters, no question - Singapore Airlines! Have a great flight!

Get the non-stop from EWR to SIN. SQ's 340-500 has Executive Economy with wider seats and more legroom than standard economy on either SQ or AF.

Thank you for the reply. I guess my next question would be what's wrong air france. It seems like I would get there faster than singapore airline.

Even if it takes longer use Singapore. More comfortable plane, service is 1000% better as is the food.

Singapore Airlines without a doubt. The non-stop is the best flight but if you take the one stop flight(via Frankfurt I think ) Singapore Airlines is still the best choice. You don't really want to change places at Paris CDG, changing planes at Singapore Changi Airport is 10 ( or 100 ) times better. I don't think anyone is knocking Air France, choosing the best of airlines depends on what is on offer. In this case Singapore Airlines I am certain will get the vote of almost everyone.

This is the ultimate no brainer- Singapore Air- the reasons are obvious.
They are rated number 1 most years- I'm not even sure Air France even shows up on the list!

Try looking at airlinequality.com

Conde Nast Traveller also does a lot of rankings.

I've been on Air France several times...not by choice..but by frequent flyer affiliations and personally I have not had good service with them. Happy Travels!

Singapore Airlines, any day... Top class service, new planes to name a few reasons why... Also a big plus as some have noted, is transiting in Changi Airport Terminal 2 which is a wonderful place to hang around if you're forced to.

Hi max10
I am also looking for airfares from NYC to Vietnam. Can I ask what kind of quotes you are getting? Do you have a good travel agency or consolidator you are using?

Thanks!

EVA Air out of Newark is running about $1100 if you can find seats. This is for their coach service. You can get Contin ental miles on EVA Air.

Also- I ran some dates on EVA Air site- depart 11/30 and return 12/18- you can go Evergreen Deluxe CXlass (like Business) for $1346. Now not all dates in December are available- but if you are flexible on dates and want to go "Almost" Business- EVA Air is definitely one option you should look at.

Hi max10,

I am not going until next August, but would appreciate the contact details for your flight source.

BillT- I have read your advice about EVA on other posts. I also plan to check them out. Would be great to get a deal in August to fly Evergreen Deluxe!

Thanks!
