That water from last week went away when the govt came and excavated two roads that were blocking water from getting to the Tonle Sap. Not sure where this "new water" is going to go but at the moment it's apparently stalled. Wat Damnak is under water. Wat Bo Road on the south end is under water. Road to the airport is reportedly flooded as is pub street.
I'm in Bangkok at the moment, hoping to return to SR on Saturday. The rain is supposed to continue until early next week which is not good.

I can only imagine - when we were there in March,, there was an unexpected huge but short-lived rainstorm. After 15 minutes, the water on Pub Street was so deep we had to take off our shoes and roll up our pants to wade across. And that was dry season! I hope everyone's doing ok.

No not typical. We're having an unusually heavy monsoon season this year as is the whole of SEA.
200 tourists had to be evacuated from Banteay Srei via helicopter and boat(!) 58 people have died so far, most of them children. The road to Koh Ker has been destroyed as well as the one to Banteay Srei.
Fun!
