Angkor Wat: Kbal Spean

What is your impression of Kbal Spean? Is there a steep, but not dangerous trail through atmospheric jungle with sounds of birds and wildlife with hundreds of butterflies to enhance the visit. Easy 45 minute walk. Or something much different? Will be going sometime between mid-Aril to Mid0May, which I think is the dry season. Will the stream and waterfall be dried up?

Yes the water will be mostly dried up. Especially at Kbal Spean where there's not that much water in the first place...much more water at Phnom Kulen...

I thought the hike up and down was easy, took 30-40 minutes and very scenic.

In April / May it will be sweltering - or wet if the rains have started.

There are no snakes in the area. Dara told me the KR ate them all when they were camped out here. But I did think the walk was very atmospheric, and the scenery quite nice, even if the water is low. I remember one very rough patch of climb, but it was just a few feet.
