Unrelated question:
How do people manage to sleep, when their beds are as hard as bricks?

Why are you staying in Shenzhen for that long anyways?

Anyways, I don't Shenzhen too much, but the main thing to do is shopping. After that, there are some interesting eateries at and around the Seaworld area.

More out of the way are to the east of the city. There is the old Daipeng City, and there's the retired Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk.

Note I've not done any of these, just some suggestions from the official guide book I recently picked up.

Hi
I visited the Minsk aircraft carrier. It was surreal! Chinese dressed up in Soviet uniforms... you can clamber around helicoptors, see what life is like inside the ship, wander around, and then at the end they had Russian dancers putting on a show!
I actually thought it was the best part of my one-day visit to Shenzhen!

My best memory of Shenzhen was feeling hungry and buying some large sponge cakes with currants in (I bought 2 and got 1 free. I was still eating them the following night in Hong Kong). Like sultana pudding at it's best.

Shopping was an adventure today. The sheer amoamount of electronics found at Huaquiang Lu was staggering. Wow... Downtown at Luohu wasnīt really that interesting. Just a big city. Probably 3 days are one to many. I will buy a sponge cake from a street vendor, but it wonīt be easy to tell good from bad in advance ;-). The stuff at the supermaket wasnīt that good. Bus 507 should take me from "window of the world" to the airport? Next stop Hainan.

From SZX's official site, the bus from Window of the World to the airport is #327, not #507. It says every 6 minutes, but since this not an airport bus, it makes many stops and whole trip takes 75 minutes. Make sure you leave lots of time.

Thanks !!!, Iīll start early. I couldnīt find the 327 on their site (maybe just because my PDA screen is too small). 75min is just fine, on a 5 weeks holiday, thereīs no need to hurry
