Security in Thailand

We are planning a trip to Thailand & wonder if it is now safe in view of the riots last month.
Has anyone been recently?

uh... have you read any of the recent Thailand reports here or the long thread about the protests in Bangkok?

A number of Fodorites were in Bangkok at the time of the protests (I wouldn't call the events riots) and, in fact, couldn't trell that there were problems in the city.

Way safer than Needham, MA or Illinois in general.

the problems in thailand are concentrated in two places really....in bangkok near to the government offices and in the far south of the country...
