Could be this one, which is on The Bund, but there's another with the same name in Pudong, so you'll need the address to be sure:

If you're fussy about hotels this probably won't suit you, but if you just want somewhere adequate to stay for a low price, it will probably do. If, however, you are paying four-star rates then you should be looking for a foreign-run property, not a Chinese one. This should be considerably cheaper, and over the counter a great deal cheaper than its published rates. If it's the hotel linked above, then you can use the website to get a notional rate that you should be able to cut down in person.

Only reason to stay at the Jinshan Seagull would be close to where you might be doing business. Jinshan is the southernmost district in greater Shanghai, the chinese language website says 90 minutes from the Pudong Airport, I'd add another 30 minutes in rush hours traffic. Ask your colleague if it's close to a Metro line.
