Samui
I have been perusing every site I can find, trying to find the best place to stay on Samui. My husband and I will be there from June 5th through the 8th. We are in our mid-twenties and looking for a place between $100-200 a night. It is the end of a long trip and we want somewhere to relax, pamper ourselves, and enjoy the beach. We don't care what part of the island we stay on as I doubt we will really go out late at night (minus some drinks at the hotel bar).
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me some personal recommendations. If anyone has had any negative experiences, those could help me cross some places of my never-ending list.
Thank you!

We stayed at Baan Samui resort on Chaweng Beach. It is right smack bang in the middle of everything and the beach is brilliant. The hotel isn't luxurious but great location and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We stayed 5 nights with 2 teenage daughters and we were so happy there that we never ventured any further than the hotel or the main street for shopping, restaurants, internet, 7 eleven etc. The location was excellent. I think the rates were around $150 night Aus. Hope this helps.

Hi Mis, We were in Samui last year and stayed at the Sundays Resort which we loved! It's not on the beach, but it's a wonderful place with outdoor showers, comfy beds, free DVDS for your room, and some great great service. I imagine it being well within your budget, and we would definitely stay there again if we're in Samui again. Good luck with whatever you choose!

ditto, me and the wife just went nuts researching on a good place - peaceful, luxurious, good views, and not too far from all the activity, *and* < $200 (
i understand, we are in our late 20s). And finally we made a choice, Sandalwood Villas, we are scheduled to stay 05/24 thru 05/29. Have a look, http://www.sandalwoodsamui.com/
there reviews are pretty good, except almost everybody points out that the place is quite a steep climb from Chaweng beach. but that's exactly why you can afford the stunning views! its my 3rd trip to thailand, but my wife's first, so hope we made a good choice!
